TidyLocal is a modern, local cleaning platform that brings full transparency to hiring a cleaner. An app-based, granular booking flow lets clients define exactly what they want cleaned — room by room — with real-time, upfront pricing. Qualified local cleaners (TLCs) are matched instantly, funds are held in escrow, and payment only releases when the job is rated complete.
Users go beyond a generic "clean." A "dirtiness" slider, room count and size selectors, and a per-room checkbox list (sweep, mop, deep-clean the fridge or oven…) determine the price in real time — fully transparent. Booking time also affects cost (immediate service vs. scheduled ahead).
The request is instantly routed to the TidyLocal Job Board. Qualified local cleaners (TLCs) get alerted, each with a full profile — rating score, jobs completed, availability, transportation verification, and client reviews — so clients match with trusted individuals.
When a cleaner accepts, an in-app instant messenger coordinates the details. The client pre-pays at booking and funds are held securely in escrow — no money changes hands at the door, keeping the exchange fair and safe for both sides.
On completion, the client marks the job done and leaves a rating, instantly releasing the escrowed funds. The visible rating system rewards thorough, timely work and builds a trusted community; consistent poor reviews (or a "don't send again") carry real consequences.
In essence, TidyLocal gives clients total control over the scope and cost of their cleaning while giving qualified cleaners a steady stream of jobs and a secure, guaranteed payment process.
Launch strategy is contingent upon securing a $100,000 seed loan for the New York City pilot. To show investors exactly when the loan is repaid, we calculate the maximum capacity of a 5-person W2 team.
A standard professional home cleaning in NYC typically runs $168–$298 (up to ~$80/hr; a 1,600 sq ft home costs ~$160–$320). To aggressively capture share while keeping gig-worker pay attractive, TidyLocal institutes a $160 flat rate for a standard residential cleaning (~3 hours of labor).
First-month salaries are pre-funded by seed capital, so TidyLocal retains 100% ($160) of the revenue from their bookings — the financial engine of early profitability.
TidyLocal takes a competitive 10% ($16) platform fee, leaving the contractor $144 — about $48/hour, exceptionally high for gig work, attracting reliable talent fast.
W2 fixed output: 5 TLC W2 agents × 5 days/week = 65 working days over the 90-day pilot. At 2 standard cleanings/day, the team has a fixed maximum capacity of 650 bookings — and because W2 agents yield 100% revenue capture, they drive early profitability. The four tiers below assume W2 agents are fully booked before jobs spill over to the 1099 network.
The W2 strategy isn't just about quality control — it's a massive revenue accelerator. Because TidyLocal captures 100% of the W2 booking fees, the initial 5 direct hires generate $104,000 on their own in the first 90 days. Even in the worst-case "Low Volume" scenario (Tier 1), the W2 employees effectively pay back the entire $100,000 loan principal independently.
